Processes are broad categories of strategic communications programs and activities, such as Community Visioning or Branding, Resident Participation, Communications Plans, Campaign Plans, Go Green Programs, Crisis Communications and Service Delivery. 

Brand Launch / Rebrand

Launch of a new agency brand or rebrand. The submission should go beyond simple logo recognition or logo design and show an understanding of strategic brand development and roll out among target audiences.

Communications or Marketing Plans/Campaigns - Consultant-Supported

Plans and/or targeted marketing campaigns that explain services or products to achieve a particular result, e.g., voter registration, go green initiatives, economic development, neighborhood revitalization, major infrastructure improvements, promoting new service, etc.

Communications or Marketing Plans/Campaigns – In-House

Plans and/or targeted marketing campaigns that explain services or products to achieve a particular result, e.g., voter registration, go green initiatives, economic development, neighborhood revitalization, major infrastructure improvements, promoting new service, etc.

Community Relations/Participation

Programs for promoting deliberations among diverse community interests in order to guide a community decision on future direction. These efforts can also include comprehensive programs designed to reinforce or establish the agency, such as a community visioning and/PR programs involving residents in community decision making on specific issues and projects.

Crisis Communications Response

Includes ongoing/general preparedness or specific response and implementation of a communications strategy in response to a crisis, man-made or natural disaster.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Outreach/Campaign

Plans and/or targeted marketing campaigns that explain services or products to diverse, underserved or non-native speaking audiences that must also achieve a particular result related to the campaign goal, including increased participating in a program, understanding of an issue affecting a minority community, improving customer satisfaction ratings, etc. Ex. Multicultural Campaign or a campaign outreach to diverse audiences.

Preparedness/Public Safety Education Campaign

Plans and/or targeted marketing campaigns to heighten awareness of safety issues to achieve with measurable impact, including  reduction in auto accidents, reduction in crime rates and DUIs, pool and river safety, wildland defensible space, evacuation plan awareness, etc.
