Discover the marvel: CAPIO familiarization tour at New Bullards Bar Dam
Nor Cal CAPIO Member Opportunity
Nestled in the scenic foothills of Yuba County, the impressive New Bullards Bar Dam is the fifth-highest in the U.S. (and proudly second-tallest in California—sorry, Shasta!). Managed by Yuba Water Agency, this engineering powerhouse isn’t just great at holding back water—it’s practically the county’s Swiss Army knife, protecting against floods, providing sustainable water, and serving up a few unexpected perks (fish-friendly habitat, anyone?).
Join us for an exclusive CAPIO familiarization tour to:
- Step inside this engineering wonder—and gaze upward from the base for a breathtaking view.
- Learn about Yuba Water Agency and meet the small but amazingly powerful communication team (capes included) that helps communicate everything from flood risk and forecasting to forest health and fish habitat—and much more!
- Enjoy lunch at the charming Clover Café in Oregon House (because engineering adventures deserve delicious endings.)
